Trad Play Fort, by designers Josue Gamonal and Vicente Porres won the Third Industrially Produced Designer Furniture Award. The theme of the awards was “The Child’s Universe,” and judges unanimously chose Trad as the winner, based on its “innovative concept that broadens the typology of children’s furniture, thanks to its references to nature and its playhouse and shelter-like quality.”

The inspiration behind Trad’s design is as follows:

“Trad is not only a storage system, Trad is a shelter, a personal space where children carry out their fantasies and games. A place that allows them to feel safe, to learn and to imagine. That enchanted wood where one can dream of heroes and princesses, witches and dragons… and live a thousand and one adventures…”

Trad project is still in development, and the only problem we see with its fruition is that children may have trouble sharing Trad with their parents, who will probably want to seek refuge and delight under this whimsical tree’s branches as well! Perhaps the designers will make a big enough, “family tree” sized Trad for the whole brood.
