We reap what we sow…so if we plant the seeds of eco-awareness in our little ones, there is a good chance that future generations will blossom into green-minded thinkers and doers. L.A.’s fabulously curated eco-boutique, The Little Seed, is a welcome patch of green and a breath of fresh air amidst the urban chaos of Los Angeles. It features all of the necessities and whimsy for our offspring to “grow up” amidst environmentally friendly wares, cool organic threads, and earth-loving philosophies.

Soleil Moon Frye (of Punky Brewster fame), Paige Goldberg Tolmach, and Elizabeth Birkett, founded The Little Seed and have made sure that no details were spared in making this haven a rewarding, peaceful shopping experience. While you root around The Little Seed, you can plant your children in the inviting play area. The boutique resembles the heart of the woods, with baby clothing hanging from tree branches and toys nestled in wooden baskets. Every step you take is somehow touched by nature.

An array of organic cotton bedding by designers including Dwell, Kate Quinn and Under the Nile will keep your nursery pesticide free, helping both baby and new parents feel rest assured. Non-toxic, inspirational toys and crafts will keep both your child’s toy box and imagination overflowing with possibilities. Let them create masterpieces with Mary’s Softdough or Inntrax Twigs Crayons, or take flight on Pastel Toys’ Ride on Propeller Airplane.

You may also branch off and buy furniture, laundry care, and bath and body products. The Little Seed carries natural, organic, sustainable varieties in all categories. Be sure to visit the boutique’s nursing lounge/baby changing nook, which is stocked with complimentary Seventh Generation and Weleda products, so you can tend to whatever crops up during your excursion with baby.
