Sophie the Giraffe Artist Series Celebrates the Green Baby Toy’s 50th Birthday

Who would have guessed that a simple toy designed in 1961 would still be such a popular sensation today. It’s sustainably made from 100% natural rubber from the sap of the Hevea tree. Parents also love that it stimulates baby’s senses: it’s soft to the touch, it squeaks, it’s great for teething and the contrasting color of her spots provide visual stimulation. The Sophie the Giraffe artists series, which includes 70 interpretations and redesigned versions of the little toy giraffe was auctioned off in May to benefit childhood cancer research.
