Sophie the Giraffe Artist Series Celebrates the Green Baby Toy’s 50th Birthday

Even though Sophie the Giraffe has only become a celebrity - and everyday mom - must-have in the past few years, the simple and sustainable squeaky baby toy has been around for half a century. French company Vulli, the toy's manufacturer, is celebrating Sophie the Giraffe's 50th birthday with an artist series of 70 one-of-a-kind re-imagined Sophie the Giraffe designs by renowned artists including Swarovski, Franck Sorbier, Escada, Lucien Pellat-Finet, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Kenzo Takada, Chantal Thomass, Mautin Blaise, Valentine Gauthier, Marie-Ange Casta, Fifi Chachnil, and Lolita Lempicka. From a subway map covered rendition of the rubber giraffe to a Sophie the Giraffe shaped cloud entitled "Cumulogirafus Sophius," the Sophie the Giraffe artist series takes the iconic toy to a new level, presenting eye-candy art that is either inspired by the toy or features a made over version of the toy.
