BKLYN DESIGNS 2010 is just around the corner, May 7-May 9th in DUMBO, Brooklyn — and we’ve got a special sneak peek at an eco-friendly children’s furniture design that will debut at the exciting exhibition! An Inhabitots favorite, CASAKids will unveil their brand new Oscar’s Bed. Oscar’s Bed features all of the built-in CASAKids’ storage and multi-use capabilities we’ve come to know and love. We’ll surely be adding this sweet place of slumber to our CASAKids favorites alongside their loft beds, OLA! nursery line, and their practical, functional and sleek storage rocking chair for tots.
Oscar’s Bed by CASAKids is made of quick growing, sustainable bamboo, finished with water-based paint and is 100% formaldehyde free. This platform-style twin size bed is elevated 42” from the ground and includes large bottom drawers, narrow drawers behind the steps, a large closet in the middle, and a bookcase at one end of the bed. That’s a lot of functionality packed into one piece of furniture, making it an ideal combination of storage and slumber, especially for those living in small homes or apartments.
Additionally, all of the storage components of this bed can be used individually once your tot moves on to a different bed — considerably extending the life span of the furniture and allowing for long-term use (a super green perk). Beyond eco-friendly aspects, CASAKids always thinks in terms of safety, creating furniture that is both functional and ergonomically correct for children.
Look for the new Oscar’s Bed at BKLYN DESIGNS 2010 and later at CASAKids.
+ Oscar’s Bed $4,500 (contact + CASAKids for ordering information)

Sorry but who wants to look at a huge field of particle board when they walk into their kid’s room?
