Remember when Gisele Bündchen said she thought that women the world over should be required to breastfeed by law? The model mom is practicing what she preaches by proudly nursing her 1 year-old daughter, Vivian and sharing the image with her Instagram followers along with the caption and hashtags: “What would I do without this beauty squad after the 15 hours flying and only 3 hours of sleep? #multitasking #gettingready.” After the birth of her son Benjamin, now 4 years-old, Bündchen told Harper’s Bazaar, “I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months.” After receiving a great deal of flack for declaring her opinion, she later added on her personal blog, “My intention in making a comment about the importance of breastfeeding has nothing to do with the law. It comes from my passion and beliefs about children… I believe that bringing a life into this world is the single most important thing a person can undertake and it can also be the most challenging. I think as mothers we are all just trying our best.”
She may not be strutting down the catwalk or striking a pose for the camera, but we think the Brazilian icon is doing some of her best work in this photograph: modeling breastfeeding.
