Originally featured in one of our blog roundups in March, Minui’s HandySitt portable high chair makes toddler dining on the go or in cramped quarters hassle-free. Made from Forestry Stewardship Council-certified birch, the trayless, ultracompact design—it’s only 5 pounds!—can be strapped onto any appropriate-size chair for instant table-side seating, then flattened and stowed away in the trunk of your car, suitcase, or closet. Click below the fold to watch a video of how the space-saving chair works, and learn about a new product the Danish furniture maker is unveiling to extend its functionality.

To make the HandySitt part of a complete system, Minui will be introducing the HandySitt Chair, a base that works with the mini-seat to create a freestanding high chair. On its own, it can be used for plopping down an older toddler, as a stepping stool for adults, or as a platform for kids who want to help Mom and Dad with meal prep. Like its diminutive sibling, the HandySitt Chair will be available in natural or black painted birch, along with your choice of black, steel, and red metal arms.

We have the original Handysitt. While it isn’t cheap, it is quite portable, it does look good, it is easy to use, and it wasn’t made in China.

Love the look of this thing. Love that it comes apart and you can take it with you. Smart.
