Gingerbread houses are what kid’s dreams are made of — sweet wonderlands where the imagination turns food into floors of decadent brain candy. Architect and LEED AP Kristina Hahn Atelier designed the Cake Study House 09 to join in the festive tradition of building miniature abodes out of yummy treats. Located in Los Angeles (in the same way Santa Claus is located in the North Pole), this ‘Sickly Sweet Dream House’ is a “study in responsible development — and the use of building materials without artificial food coloring are a nod to “eco-gingerbread chic.”

The cavity inducing amenities and architecture inherent in the sugar powered, entirely edible Cake Study House include chocolate Toblerone stairs, hard gingerbread floors, cookie countertops and marshmallow furniture (a bed and deck chairs). S’mores, anyone? Toothsome landscaping includes banana succulents, almond cacti, hazelnut flowers, a pepper Palm tree, almond grass and pepper ferns. A tea candle fireplace, a chewing gum pool, sugar cube chairs and a tortilla chip sun sail make this sweet LA pad ‘all the rage.’
