the toy society, crocheted marshmallow bunnies, simple infant weebit booties, betz white, sewing green

The Toy Society wins us over with their mission to change the world one handmade toy at a time. Members of the society make toys and then “drop,” them in various locations from playgrounds to bridges, to be found by fortunate passerby who get to keep their serendipitous treasure. The Purple People Eater above is from Drop #180.

LilSugar gets in the treehugging spirit with Simple Infant Weebit Booties. These cute shoes are made with a hemp upper, and an organic cotton lining, and they are leather free.

Eco Child’s Play features a great profile of green crafter, Betz White. White’s new book, “Sewing Green, 25 Projects Made with Repurposed & Organic Materials” was just released this week and we can’t wait to get our hands on a copy!

We’re sweet on Droolicious‘s pick of Crocheted Marshmallow Bunnies. These colorful bunnies are Fair Trade and handmade by artisans in Bangladesh. What a satisfying alternative to the pure sugar variety.
