It’s Earth Day, and here at Inhabitots we’re going about our green business as usual, honoring Mother Earth. As eco-conscious readers of Inhabitots, we’d like to open up a discussion with you about things we can all do to extend Earth Day into a year long celebration. Enlighten us with your thoughts and ideas, and you could win an Inhabitat T-shirt or onesie of your choice for your little InhabiTOT!
Here’s how to win:
1) Sign up for our newsletter and you’ll be in the know year round with green news, sustainably designed children’s products, eco-living tips and ways to raise your children as eco-minded earth lovers.
2) Leave your answer to the following question as a comment on this post:
How will you turn Earth Day into a year long celebration?
THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

I will borrow from friends or purchase products made from sustainable materials when setting up the room (and gathering the necessary additional supplies) for the newest member of our family scheduled to arrive sometime in early November.
We’re planting a long awaited veggie garden and some berry bushes! I intend to supplement that by going to the farmers market every sunday.
I plan to buy 0 plastic bottles this year. I’m even running a contest my blog to encourage other to do the same:

I will do my best to use recycled products for my home and buy from local farmers for the best produce as well as supporting small business. My children will learn the difference between organic and chemically “enhanced” food and to choose wisely. And no more disposable coffee cups!
The art of reusing an item is fun and gets the kids involved. At the dinner table ,ask the kids about different products you have that you no longer need and turn them into something you can use..
It really is fun to do and some of the neat ideas the kids come up with!
