HOW TO: Upcycle an Old T-Shirt into a Trick or Treat Bag in 3 Simple Steps

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

  • t-shirt
  • sewing machine, needle and thread or fabric glue
  • scissors
  • large bowl
  • pencil or fabric pen

Step 2: Sew it Up

Turn the T-shirt inside out, use the sewing machine, needle and thread or fabric glue to close the bottom seam along the hem. Tip: You can double stitch the hem to really reinforce the bottom of the bag.

Step 3: Cut it Up

Use a large bowl as a template to cut out the collar of the shirt. Then, following the hem, cut the collar off of the shirt.
