The most important idea that I want to emphasize is that your child's bedroom should be a place that they enjoy spending time. You want it to be free from clutter and an inviting space to read, dream, sleep and play. It can be just as hard for a child to relax in a space that is disorganized and messy as it is for us adults.
It use to be a bunk bed with desk underneath that we purchased years ago at IKEA. We cut the desk and bed apart to make a bed that is large and close to the ground, and repurposed the desk portion to make a creative space for my son.
