#4: Collectibles
When it comes to items that your child collects it is a great idea to use the top of bookshelves to display them. It is fun to keep small items that are similar together. My son has a few toy cars that belonged to my grandfather - those along with his own favorite cars sit on a shelf. If your child simply has too many collectibles to display a great idea is to place them in reusable boxes with lids and then stack them in the top of your child's closet or in storage. You want your child to have keepsakes that they will enjoy with their own children one day and storing them away in keepsake boxes is the perfect way to do so.
Where did you get his bed? I’ve been looking everywhere for one like this…
Hi kdavi,
It use to be a bunk bed with desk underneath that we purchased years ago at IKEA. We cut the desk and bed apart to make a bed that is large and close to the ground, and repurposed the desk portion to make a creative space for my son. You can see the process here: http://www.mysweetgreens.com/2011/10/ikea-hack-turn-loft-bed-into-regular.html
Warmly,
Jennie
