1. Gather the ingredients
- 2 medium organic bananas
- 1/2 cup of dark chocolate (make sure to choose vegan chocolate, if you wish)
- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
- 3 tablespoons of shredded coconut
2. Slice the bananas
Slice the bananas into 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch rounds and place them in a single layer on a metallic tray or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
3. Make tiny banana sandwiches
For a sweeter and stickier result, stack the bananas with peanut butter, caramel or anything you desire. Leave the tray in the freezer for about two hours, until they are stone cold.
4. Melt the chocolate
Once the bananas are frozen, melt the chocolate in a small saucepan with hot water, or in the microwave if you’re pressed for time.
5. Continue Melting the Chocolate
Heat the chocolate until smooth and completely melted.
6. Dip the banana bites
Carefully dip the frozen banana bites (one by one!) into the hot chocolate with the help of two forks or a toothpick. If the chocolate starts to cool down and get too thick, you can always melt it again.
Allow any excess chocolate to drizzle off and place the bites back on the same tray. Decorate with shredded coconut or nuts if you fancy, and note that the chocolate starts to set almost immediately. Yum!
You can eat the banana bites at once, or place them back into the freezer and eat them later when they are frozen, as a sweet treat. Enjoy!
