What you will need:

  • 3 tablespoons organic sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup organic corn starch
  • 2 cups water
  • organic food colorants

Step 1: Pick Your Colors

Add a couple of drops of natural food colorants to a muffin tin or other container. I like to use muffin tins because they are easy to tote six different colors to wherever we are doing our art projects – in our case usually outside. Also, it makes for easy cleanup and doesn’t dirty a ton of containers.

Step 2: Mix Your Paint

Add all of the other ingredients to a small saucepan and continually stir over low heat until the mixture thickens to a paint consistency.

What if you want to make a gallon of the paint at once? Can you tell me what amount of the ingredients to put in it?

    Hello,
Can you tell me where I can find this organic food coloring that you used? In the past I used a recipe for finger paint using organic strawberries to color..this was passed out as the party favor for my five year old bday..she will be six this year and is asking for paint…it will be super time concuming to use sevearal different fruits and veggies to make different colors…we do not use convitonial food colorings due to their harm ful health effects…im soo very excited to make this for her if the organic food coloring is found…also have you ever used veggatable gleserion for finger paint? Sorry for all of the typos, nursing and typing with one finger on a tablet lol…
    Thanks again,
    Victoria
