HOW TO: Make Gluten-Free Brownies With Coconut Icing

Ingredients

Move oven rack down to the second notch. Preheat oven to 325F

  • 10 tbs organic butter
  • 1 1/4 organic cane sugar
  • 3/4 cocoa powder
  • 1/8 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbs organic vanilla
  • 2 tbs water
  • 2 large cage free organic eggs
  • 1/3 cup organic coconut flour
  • 1 cup walnuts
Icing mixture (optional)
  • 1/3 cup organic coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/8 cup honey
  • 1 tsp organic vanilla

Step 1: Brown Butter

In a saucepan, place 10 tbs of butter divided. Then cook on medium heat until the butter stops foaming and little brown pieces appear at the bottom of the pan. This is purely for a buttery taste.

Step 2: Add Chocolate

Take your butter off of the heat and immediately add your sugar, chocolate, and salt.

Step 3: Add Vanilla and Water

After you have stirred the chocolate in, immediately add the water and vanilla. Stir completely and let cool for 5 minutes.
