Step 1: Gather the Supplies
- medium to large sized plastic dinosaurs
- leftover spray paint
- craft knife
- organic potting soil
- organic succulent plants
Step 2: Get Cutting
Using the craft knife, cut a hole in the back of the dinosaur. Make sure that it is large enough for the plant to fit, luckily these plastic dinosaurs are hollow.
Step 3: Get Painting
I decided to spray paint the dinosaurs because my son is getting older and I thought the sleek look of gray dinosaurs would look better in his bedroom than the colorful counterparts. Simply spray the entire dinosaur with paint and let dry. You can also skip this step entirely and enjoy the look of the dinosaur toy as-is.
Step 4: Get Planting
Use organic potting soil to plant the succulent in the back of the dinosaur – adding more potting soil after you plant the succulent.
Step 5: Spritz with Water
Use a spray bottle to spritz the succulent and the soil – don’t over water, it is a succulent after all.
Step 6: Display and Enjoy
These dinosaur succulent planters will look fantastic in your child’s bedroom, playroom or even a family room.
