Looking for a perfect accent for your child’s playroom or bedroom? A cute upcycled rug might just do the trick. Emily Kircher is an artist who specializes in unique recycled and upcycled goods. Kircher offers a wide array of recycled goodies, such as crocheted bowls and one-of-a-kind holiday ornaments, but her delightful Upcycled T shirt Area Rugs are perfect for kids. We think the Upcycled Round Jellyfish Area Rug is fantastic, but there are plenty of rug styles and colors available – enough choices to match any decor scheme or taste.

Not all of Kircher’s rugs are round, as you can see above. Rugs also come in adorable shapes such as cupcakes or kitty cats – fun choices for a playroom. Emily Kircher makes each rug with donated sustainable, salvaged hand-cut yarn fabric from clothing designers. Appliqués, when used, are original designs and hand-stitched around the edges. Fabric yarn creates a rug that is thick, cozy and soft, but durable, so these are great for little kids, or even little furry kids, if you happen to have pets. Best of all, you can just pop these rugs right in the washer and dryer! Plus, if you contact her, Kircher will even make you a one-of-a-kind custom upcycled rug in the color, design scheme and size of your choice.
