Where we live, it often gets cold at the end of October and winter stays around until sometime in March. Not every day is bitter cold, there are often weekends full of bright, warmer weather that leave us with rosy cheeks and thoughts of cups of homemade hot chocolate. So we often bundle up – usually in lots and lots of boiled wool and wool long johns, and big warm boots… and take treks through parks (we saw a muskrat close up last week when it warmed up a little!), skate on the longest outdoor skating rink in the world, the Rideau Canal, tobagan down icy hills and build lots and lots of snow-ladies when the white stuff is sticky enough. when it is cold outside we like to play chase indoors or do art.
We are Wisconsinites so when it is cold outside, we make the best of it and get out there and have fun! Everything from snow angels to sledding and building tunnels for our dogs!!! Even taking a walk to enjoy nature. But then we like to come in to eat popcorn and play board games. Having this sleep sak would not only keep our son warm in our cold 100+ year old house but would keep him cool in the summer with the fabulous Merino wool. Here in Upstate New York, we get plenty of cold, snowy weather. Our favorite thing to do is bundle up our littlest one in the amauti (inuit babywearing parka!), and head out with the pups to explore the city or the many mountains around us. Afterwards, we love to cozy up to the wood stove with hot chocolate and popcorn and recount our favorite moments of the day.

When it’s cold outside, I either bundle the baby up and take him for a walk, or if it’s really icky out, I let him play in the kitchen with metal bowls and whisks while I bake a nice tea loaf for us to enjoy at snack time.
