FRAMEicariums: Living Ant Farm Art by Hugh Hayden & Katie Vitale

by , 09/07/10

Another feature unique to each FRAMEicarium is the frame it is housed in. “The ones on display here can be considered the high end line,” says Hayden. “Each frame was hand picked from a thrift store or garage sale and then re-finished and fitted with the Plexiglass ant farm. We plan on launching a line of less expensive, smaller [about the size of a CD jewel case] frames with picnic-themed artwork for the designboom mart.”

If you saw Hugh at BKLYN Designs or at this year’s ICFF designboom mart and he seemed a little fidgety, it was probably because he had ants in his pants!
