Cuddle + Kind dolls are the genius fundraising idea of the five-member Woodgate family. Inspired to help after seeing a documentary on the ravages of childhood hunger, they created Cuddle+Kind to provide nutritious meals to children throughout North America and worldwide. Keeping kids healthy through adequate nutrition improves their well-being and ability to perform at school, an important aspect of breaking the poverty cycle.

There are nine dolls in the Cuddle + Kind range, including mermaids, rabbits, deers, penguins and cats. Each has its own name and special backstory. The dolls are beautifully designed and handknit with embroidered finishing touches—there are 42 steps in the process of making each doll. They also measure 20 inches in length, are knitted from 100% cotton yarn and filled with hypoallergenic polyfill, making them super soft and cuddly. They are safe and non-toxic and meet or exceed US and Canadian safety standards.
For each $55 doll sold, Cuddle + Kind provides 10 meals to children in need. During the Indiegogo campaign, which runs until 16 October 2015, dolls are $49 each, with free shipping in the US and Canada for November delivery. There are also gift cards and small inspirational prints available and pledges of up to nine dolls and nine prints can be made, providing 135 meals. International orders are US$69 including shipping.
