The art of baby wearing has been practiced since ancient history; but it was only recently that this age-old parenting skill really blossomed, thanks to an ever increasing array of carrier options, and the rise in popularity of attachment parenting in Western culture. Now, there are so many baby wearing options on the market that attempting to sort them all out may be mind-boggling. I’d like to share a few of my favorite carriers with you, to help take the guesswork out of your search for the perfect way to tote your baby.

POSH PAPOOSE
The creator of this beautiful line of slings is a former silk painter whose love for great fabric shines through in her product! These slings are vibrant, classy, and very well-designed. They feature lightly padded rails, a large pocket, heavy-duty rings, and a Velcro® tie that allows wearers to shorten the tail. Posh Papoose® also has a line of cotton/bamboo blend and 100% bamboo slings which are eco-friendly and attractive at the same time.

KOZY CARRIER
Although it was the first of the truly modern “Mei Tai” carriers, the Kozy Carrier™ is still considered the gold standard of Asian-inspired carriers after five years of marketing. With its sturdy construction and comfortable straps, the Kozy Carrier™ is easily adjustable, making it comfortable for parents and babies of virtually all shapes and sizes. It is also reversible! This carrier is made of 100% cotton, with some additional natural options.

BELLE BABY CARRIER
This soft structured carrier is intended for smaller babies, between 10 and 25 pounds. It is incredibly multifaceted, and its straps and buckles enable a fuss-free, secure fit. Soft lining and padded straps make the Belle Baby Carrier comfy for parents and baby, and several beautiful organic options make this carrier a smart and stylish choice.

SLEEPY WRAP
Since wraps are designed to distribute your baby’s weight evenly across your body, they are unsurpassed for comfort! Wraps are also very versatile, and they allow mothers to breastfeed in a private manner. The Sleepy Wrap is my favorite because of its high-quality, soft fabric that supports children who weigh up to 45 pounds.

TALIA WRAPS ULTIMATE TOP
Have you ever wished that your maternity clothes could serve another purpose after your baby’s birth? The one-of-a-kind Talia Wrap not only functions as a maternity top, it also transforms into a carrier to tote your smiling baby around in a whole new world. It is only recommended for infants weighing up to 13 pounds, but it makes up for that fact by being a useful maternity wardrobe item beforehand!

Great post! I have a whole bunch of carriers (different kinds, colors, fabrics…). My two favorites are my Eden mei tai (it’s velvet!) and the Comfy Joey pouch slings (I have two, but they’re reversible so it’s like having four). Hubby also has a Comfy Joey and uses our mei tai and ring sling, too.
