Mistresses star Alyssa Milano and husband David Bugliari recently announced that they’re expecting a daughter in early fall. With this pregnancy, as with her first pregnancy (Milano has an almost three-year-old son, Milo), she is focusing on growing a healthy baby rather than her own body image, which is likely what landed her on the recent cover of Fit Pregnancy. Milano, who has admitted she gained 55 pounds while pregnant with Milo, notes, “A female body is not made to look good in a bikini. It’s made to give birth and have a baby and be a cozy companion for it afterward.” Her pregnancy weight gain has garnered some criticism from fellow celebrities, but Milano refuses to play mean, instead simply taking it all in stride and stating, “”We don’t get hungry when we’re pregnant for no reason. You’re making a skeletal system. You’re making organs. I refuse to look at the scale. I didn’t look at the scale with Milo until the day I gave birth.” Milano notes she does exercise via prenatal yoga, and toddler wrangling — and she has a healthy, refreshingly un-Hollywood like attitude about her weight that all women can take to heart.
