  • Chapped and sun-smacked lips need lots of TLC these days, regardless of climate or rugged outdoor pursuits. The sun feels stronger, and environmental stresses are increasingly a factor. We could think of no better way to nurture and soften one’s lips than with All The Better To Kiss You With eco lip balms. Created by a Mom for concerned Moms and their families, these certified organic lip treats are a great way to insure that everyone in your family will be coddled and lip swaddled, day in and day out – and all the better for it.

We first discovered All The Better To Kiss You With lip balms when collaborating with founder Diana Lussenden Stewart, during one of Inhabitat’s holiday parties. Diana’s organic skincare products were a smashing success with our party attendees, and everyone was particularly smitten with the organic eco lip balm gift sets, which were definitely snatched up in a flash.

Diana has worked her magic once again with this season’s yummy new flavors looking fresh and oh-so tempting in their vintage recyclable tin packaging. How exotic (and cruelty-free) to coat one’s lips with balms of Chai Mandarin, Lavender Vanilla, Pomegranate, and Pepperminty. As a part of the Baby Bear Shop product line, ‘All The Better To Kiss You With’ organic balms contain 100% natural ingredients, with no artificial anything, and are totally free of common allergens. With no artificial colors or fragrances, no synthetic preservatives, no genetically modified ingredients, and no parabens, you’re getting only the best, topped off with organic or wild-crafted essential oils that are as natural as they are deliciously aromatic. Whether for the entire family or simply as an eco-luxe treat to toss in your vegan leather tote, ‘All the Better To Kiss You With’ makes organic health and beauty a tasty delight.

Gift sets retail for $17.99; individual .25 oz tins for $5.99

I would need a pocketable container of “all the better to kiss you with” finger sanitizer to use that eco lip balm.

    Dear ‘kidlet’:

I find the packaging choice for ‘All The Better To Kiss You With’ eco lip balms to be brilliant. Not only are they gorgeous to look at, but they are totally convenient to open and close. I generally do not use any ‘sanitizers’, as I find them to be pretty unsanitary – and often not so eco-friendly.

I love that one can also save the lip balm tins – collect them if you will, and in turn teach the next generation about some good old-fashioned packaging values. I think that all of the details have been well thought out with this environmentally sensitive product.

I agree with abigail that the packaging is nice but I also agree with kidlet that that is not the most sanitary way to put on lip balm (with the fingers): I did not find a listing of ingredients to see what they use as a natural preservative to keep the product germ-free. Products that generally require you to stick your fingers in usually don’t stay as fresh as those that are pumped out or are in stick form. I’ve noticed this especially from working at the bodycare department at a local health food store. Also, it is a possibility that the top can come off unknowingly in your purse, etc. and the contents can get contaminated- many customers and myself have experienced this with a particular brand of lip balm.

Also, as far as sanitizing your hand goes, keeping a little bottle of rose water (preferably bulgarian rose) is great to sanitize your hands with- it’s a singular ingredient that helps as a natural ph balancer and antibacterial agent as well as a great pick me up (spritz on the face, neck, wherever!) to feel refreshed throughout the day. Great for women as it also helps to balance out hormones.

Geez, can you tell that I just got off work? :D

Hadn’t heard or the rose water thing… is there an equivalent tonic for men?

Thanks so much for the great tips, “mamamy”. Love the rose water suggestion. My husband is actually half- Bulgarian, and I know from spending time in Bulgaria that this is a secret beauty tip. I have even seen the fields where the roses are grown, and it is a feast for the eyes.

We appreciate your and “kidlet”‘s input. Thanks so much for reading and writing.

    Best wishes – Abigail

I actually have all three of these and they’re pretty good. they smell delightful and feel good going on too. I would prefer having them as a stick, too, but the little canisters are pretty if not completely sanitary.

Hello kidlet, I would like to suggest a tonic (diy with spring water, bit of vegetable glycerine, and essential oils) that consists of frankincense, myrrh, and/or sandalwood (oshadhi is an AMAZING brand of essential oils). I’ve noticed that a lot of the male customers dig the earthy and grounding aromas of the above mentioned essential oils. Gotta give credit to my dude for the input!

And Abigail, I am jealous! How amazing that would be to stand in one of those fields…. Definitely one of the places I want to visit!
