It’s never too early to introduce your bambino to the oeuvre of one of mid-century design’s grandmasters, Alexander Girard. (Who says nursery decor has to be all teddy bears and ballerinas, anyway?) Columbia Forest Products has reissued some of Girard’s iconic designs, which were first used as part of Herman Miller’s Environment Enrichment Panel program in the ’70s. Printed directly on formaldehyde-free, sustainably harvested plywood panels using water-based inks, the PLYprints are bold and vibrant in a way babies find naturally appealing. And getting a little jumpstart on art education couldn’t hurt either.
