This vintage German contraption is a work of sheer genius. Designed by Hans Brockhage and Erwin Andra in the 1950s, the “Schaukelwagen” can be flipped one way to use as a child-sized play car or tilted upside-down to become a rocking chair. Mini-modernists will go goo-goo-ga-ga over the sleek bent birch frame and the molded plywood seat, while their parents will rejoice in a single geegaw taking the place (and footprint) of two. Someone get this back into production, stat!

This is such a cool kids toy/chair/car! I can see my 2 little nephews playing with this for hours. How clever a design and it would be great if someone could build these again.
