Made from recycled crayons, soy wax, and non-toxic pigments, these scribblers from Hooty and Lou are refashioned into familiar Hanukkah shapes like dreidels, menorahs, and Stars of David. A great Hanukkah pocket stuffer, these will keep kids busy long after the holidays have gone. We also think they'd make great give-away gifts for Hanukkah parties.

Kids go crazy for LEGOs, and apparently so does Etsy store owner Valerie Glaser. Her upcycled dreidels are made from LEGOs, then hand-stamped with the Hebrew letters used to play the traditional Hanukkah game. Each set of 6 comes in a bright array of colors and will have kids and adults giggling and dreaming about what next to build — an upcycled menorah perhaps?

Smiling Tree Toys has been a favorite of ours for some time (we love that they always make a donation to the Peace Corps with every purchase), and this set of three Hanukkah “ornaments” is no exception. Whether you make them into a hanging garland or dangle them in your window to celebrate the holidays, these keepsakes will remain with your family for years to come. Made from sustainably harvested wood from the United States and organically finished with local beeswax and camelina oil, the set includes a dreidel, a menorah, and a Star of David.

An organic cotton onesie or toddler tee, made using water-based inks, that GLOWS IN THE DARK? Perfect for when it’s time to light the menorah, this onesie comes in a natural color with the symbols for peace, love, and lights. We’re not sure if kids or adults will get a bigger kick out of the onesie’s illuminatory abilities, but it’s safe to say, Hanukkah in this outfit will be one to remember.

Baby’s first Hanukkah? Put a little holiday swing in baby’s step or crawl with these soft-soled, handcrafted shoes from Kaya’s Closet, another brand Tots has followed closely. Covered with Stars of David and menorahs, these sweet shoes are available in several sizes from 0 up to 24 months (check out all her holiday options, including several organic possibilities).

These handcrafted dreidels from artisans in South Africa are beautiful and they actually spin! We love that they are Fair Trade and pretty enough to decorate the home (or come out for an impromptu out-of-season dreidel game) all year long.

+Fair Trade Dreidels $25.00

Chocolate gelt are bite-sized treats that pop up everywhere during dreidel playing time, so why not choose a Fairly-Traded version for your holiday? Divine Chocolate is owned partially by the Ghanaian farmers who grow the cocoa, which means they get better pay and have reinvested their Fair Trade income in the community with ventures such as building schools and wells and supporting women’s issues. And the chocolate itself? Free of artificial colorings and preservatives, made with Fair Trade vanilla and sugar as well as Fair Trade cocoa, and truly divine tasting.

Book publishers have recently been embracing the somewhat forgotten genre of children’s pop-up books.
