Kids and candlelight don’t mix — so thankfully the LED Motherboard Menorah by designer Roni Kabessa lets families ‘light’ the Menorah each night of Hanukkah without worrying about an open flame. A panel on the back of the Menorah controls each of the nine, kid and earth-friendly LED lights, which are powered by a 9 volt battery. Made from a recycled motherboard, Kabessa’s green Menorah certainly puts a modern-day spin on an ancient tradition.

that is not a menorah, menorah’s have 7 branches. it is not a kosher Hanukia either. aside from flame being a requirement (electrical does not fulfill commandments), 8 of the branches must be of the same height.

Unfortunately, that’s not a “Recycled motherboard,” but a custom printed circuit board (copper-laminated fiberglass etched with ferric chloride). So, aside from the fact that it’s an LED menorah (of sorts), and therefore fire-safe… it’s not any more eco-friendly than any other blinking LED products.
