Smiling Planet buys unused medical grade, high quality plastic scraps from a medical parts factory, and then uses these scraps to make their plates. Medical grade polypropylene exceeds the FDA safety compliance standards for food contact; and since these plates are recyclable again at the end of their life, this is a true cradle to cradle product.
Smiling Planet plates are made locally, free of packaging, BPA free and they do not contain lead, phthalates, or toxic ink.
