Handmade felt is certainly getting lots of buzz in the design community these days, and felt that is crafted by fair trade artisans in remote corners of the globe feels even warmer and fuzzier to craft connoisseurs. Satch & Sol has gone one sustainable-step further on the felt frontier by partnering with community-supported, artisan cooperatives in an attempt to promote environmental stewardship and cultural preservation in local regions. Their Artists of Mongolia cooperative focuses on applying traditional felting and knitting skills to traditional felt slipper designs. We love these Satch & Sol ‘Hitch & Tie’ booties, lovingly crafted for toddlers and kids. Their soft-sole bottoms and super-cushioned fit make for adorable slip-ons that are one-of-a-kind in style and globally chic in attitude. Satch & Sol founder, Susan Bell, has really gone the distance as an entrepreneur, importer, and eco-inspired Mom.
