Passover is a special time for family to join together to celebrate the warmth of home and time-honored traditions. A new generation is also encouraging their elders to put an eco-friendly spin on Passover meals and preparation by incorporating organic spelt or whole-wheat matzo, kosher wine, and local, organic and free-range seder plate ingredients.

We also love the idea of having a year-to-year family ritual with this amazing seder plate pattern for knitters by Tikkun Knits. Both a storytelling tool and a craft activity for the ‘more experienced’ knitters in the family, this provides a great way to bring everyone together around the table or in the glow of an aromatic soy candle to share stories. For even more artistic interpretations of seder plate designs, do not miss the current exhibit, ‘New Works/Old Story’ at the Jewish Contemporary Museum in San Francisco.

We wish all of our Inhabitots readers and their families a very happy and celebratory Passover!
