We all had wooden toys when we were kids: wooden blocks, wooden animals and even wooden cars. These classic toys were great, but none of them were powered by the sun. That is why we love this low-fi take on a high-tech concept: solar powered toy helicopters. These charming Scandinavian style wooden helicopters come with plastic rotor blades with compact solar panels on their tops. This allows the helicopter to collect solar energy as it sits on the windowsill, all the while charging up for later playtime.

The solar helicopters come in a variety of primary colors and simple, basic shapes, hearkening back to the classic wooden toys of our youth. We love the combination of low-tech and high-tech, and of course the fun introduction to solar power for your kids.
