One of my son’s first words was bowl. He is always so excited when he gets to play with or eat out of a bowl. Of course they usually end up on his head. I think the Squishy bowl would quickly become his favorite for eating and playing.

Owning a set of fun squishy bowl would allow my daughter to help me in ‘preparing’ dinner without breaking any dishes. She could throw them off her high chair or bang them repetetively withpiut causing any havoc on our floors or her little toes.
Hope I get them!

I want to wind squishy bowls because I have already broken too many of our bowls at home. I want to wind squishy bowls because my daughter will be on solid foods in a couple of months. I wrote a limerick:

There once was some cool squishy bowls
You could stab them and not make no holes
They’re colored and bendy
Soon they’ll be so trendy
To buy them you’ll sell your kids’ souls

Okay, a little morbid. Sorry.

I currently work in several different offices in NYC and I have never seen so much being wasted on a daily basis than by those I work with. I’ve been an advocate for reusable containers and utensils and I feel this set would be a great way to continue the positive encourgement and movement thats starting for my colleagues and those who I work with.

Our daughter has broken 4 bowls so far this week. Our only weakness is giving them to her, so winning these bowls would sort that issue out!

User Gravatar
Bodie Says:

My 2-y.o. daughter has a mish-mash collection of small plastic bowls and eating ware. They are all too small for her, AND I’m afraid of the consequences of her eating from plastic containers. My wife and I have been looking for a good replacement set for her that would be large enough for her growing appetite and made from clean, green materials. The Squishy Bowls appear to deliver on both of those points, AND the fact that they’re nearly indestructible only sweetens the deal.

P.S. I am already a subscriber to the newsletter. Do I need to resubscribe to enter this contest?

At first I was thinking how great they would be for camping. And then I remembered I have 2 toddlers and a just-starting solids 8mo, which means they would be great for ANYTIME! :P

why I want to go squishy
1. the company’s environmental policy is not at all squishy – it is hard core & passionate
1.my baby is so deliciously squishy and will be eating solids soon and will need these bowls
3. the design is sleek and whimsical at the same time – and I love when a designer is onomapoetic.
4. can I just say squishy squishy squishy squishy – I love the word!!!

I would love to with these bowls because I am an Interior Design student (very interested in promoting SUSTAINABLE design) and when I want to take lunch to school with me it’s very annoying to have empty lunch bowls in my bag that take up the same amount of space as filled up ones. I think these bowls pass the test of both form and function AND I think it would be a good way for more people to get to know about the innovation :)

I think these Guyot Designs bowls are just the coolest! My best friend’s little girl is turning 2 in a month and I think this would be a great gift for both Mama and Baby! Guyot Designs is a great company that buys carbon offsets for all of the items they sell. As an “auntie” I think it would be a great way to spread “conscious” living to my girlfriend and our future generation!

The family is eagerly awaiting the birth of our newest grandchild–after many years w/o a baby in the family. Times are different now, and this baby needs to have squishy-ware for the new era he will be a part of. He may be influenced by squishy-ware to develop & design new products for looming problems as he grows to be a productive, problem-solving adult. All because of squishy-ware which we would introduce him to. THANKS!

These very nicely designed products that can be used as tools to promote green design, recycling, and waste reduction. These dishes can be taken back-packing, camping, for lunch, dinner, travel, etc as opposed to using a new styrofoam/plastic dishes every time. It is also a great way to subtly teach children about the environmental issues we face with waste by providing them cool, resilient and fun dishes.

Squishy Gear would come in really handy– I am moving to Honduras and am going to live off the grid and am giving all my worldly goods away. I could pack Squishy Gear in my suitcase and have my beans and rice the very next day!

User Gravatar
Lindan Says:

Squishy Gear would come in very handy!
When I pack for camping i wouldn’t have to worry about the bowls getting broken when I pack them in my camping gear. Then when I play “gear tetrus” to pack as much gear as possible in the smallest amount of space of my vehicle – I wouldn’t have to worry about the Squishy Gear getting sqished, bent out of shape, or broken!
The suishy gear would be very useful when packing snacks and lunches for my college age children! Again no worry about the squishy gear getting broken, nor would it matter if the bowls were bent out of shape to pack in a cooler – as they would return to their former shape when not squished in a corner of the cooler!
I would greatly love to win some squishy gear! They would be very useful for camping, packing lunches, feeding toddlers, or multiple other uses!!!!!

I would love to own a set of Squishy Gear!
The squishy gear would be very useful on camping trips. No worry about the squishy bowls getting squashed, or broken. They would be easy to pack in with my other gear, and conform to the shape of the space to be packed. Then when unpacked the Squishy Gear would return to their former shape!
Also when I start packing gear into my vehicle, I wouldn’t have to worry about breaking or sqishing out of shape the Squishy Gear! When I start playing “car tetrus”, to pack as much gear in as small a space as possible,… I wouln’t have to worry about breaking the Sqishy Gear, as they return to their former shape when unpacked!!!!
The Squishy Gear would be useful for packing lunches for my college age children. No worry about squishing the bowls in the corner – when unpacked from the cooler , the bowls would return to their origional shape!
Squishy Gear would be very useful at my house – when packing lunches, when packing camping gear into the smallest spaces, or whenn feeding a toddler – NO WORRY about breaking the Squishy Gear as they would return to their former shape when unpacked!!!!!
Thanks, Lindan 2/20/09

I would like to win these bowls for my niece. I have been trying to help my sister choose safer sustainable eco-friendly products to help safely raise her daughter. I cringe whenever my family microwaves the unsafe plastic bowls to heat her food. So, I figured if I win the bowls and let her see how much safer they are it may help her realize by going “green” does not mean she will sacrifice convenience, her quick & easy lifestyle or money for the health & well-being of her child. Not to mention when she travels she has no excuse to continue to use non-sustainable dishware!!

I just started looking for bowls and plates for my 7-month-old daughter and realized that there is very little out there that is not made out of melamine! Even though I understand that it is more or less safe, I just don’t like the idea of my kid eating off of something made with formaldehyde. And the squishy bowls just look so cool!
