Ms. Ruijter, who designs the entire collection of 2 Cute 2 Be True toys, lives in the countryside in the Netherlands with her 5 kids and one on the way. She ensures that the people she employs to make her toys, mostly housewives, are paid a fair wage. The factory that makes these toys is part of the Thai government’s OTOP (One Tambon One Product) program. Tambon means Village. OTOP helps traditional Thai handicraft businesses in small villages to promote their products by giving assistance on quality, internet technology and communications.
Each toy is about 10 inches long, a very huggable size. And the line-up also includes a sweet crocheted candy necklace, pictured above! Every toy in the 2 Cute 2 Be True collection costs $24.95 and can be purchased through Coccinela.
